First Stage When the first stage isn’t connected to a cylinder valve, the Auto Closure Device (ACD) Helps to keep the inlet shut to offer protection to the first stage internal parts from contamination and corrosive water. This accomplishes preservation of the internal lubrication, keeping the inlet filter clean and dry, and is safer for elevated percentages of oxygen.
Exceptional cold-water performance is achieved by modernizing Aqua Lung’s anti-freeze properties.
Auto-Balanced: Progressive increase of the working pressure to take care of optimum breathing efforts. Depending on the diver’s depth, the working pressure of the first stage is automatically elevated to counteract the increased breathing air density. Ergonomically shaped Yoke screws made of a bi-material “Soft Grip” surface provide a better hold when installing or putting off the first stage – especially with cold hands.
A specialized ACD Dust cap comes attached to the regulator body to offer protection to the inlet fitting and the ACD system from impacts or damage. Perfectly located HP and MP ports provide optimal hose routing.
Second Stage The new front cover opening channels allow water to waft sideways over the diaphragm. The new design incorporates radial openings to prevent freeflows when diving in stronger currents and the openings have been widened to reduce peak inspiratory waft by an impressive 20%. The new overmolded exhaust cover is made of elastomer with a “soft touch” effect.
